Commonwealth Court Judge Simpson announced his ruling on Pennsylvania’s voter ID law last week. The ruling was disappointing, but I’m still standing with local and state leaders to overturn the law. We’re also pushing legislation that would increase penalties for voter impersonation.

The law requires Pennsylvania voters to show an ID before they are allowed to vote. If you want to vote in November you need to have a valid, non-expired:

  • U.S. government ID with a name, photograph and expiration date;
  • U.S. military ID;
  • PA or PennDOT ID with a name, photograph and expiration date; or

• An ID issued by a Pennsylvania care facility with a name, photograph and expiration date.

If you need help getting your valid ID or birth certificate or have questions about the new law, my staff and I are here to help.
