Philadelphia, September 22, 2009
Senator Larry Farnese has teamed with the Caring People Alliance at Fels South Philadelphia Community Center’s Marconi Older Adult Program to bring to senior adults living in the first senatorial district, free health screenings and information about programs and services designed just for older residents.
More than a dozen providers and public agencies, including SEPTA, Philadelphia Police Department, Jefferson Hearing Center, Philadelphia Corporation for Aging and others, will set up exhibits at Fels South Philadelphia Community Center, 2407 S. Broad Street, in South Philadelphia, Thursday, 24 September 2009, from 10am to 1pm. Representatives will be available to answer attendees’ questions and share information ranging from personal safety, legal services, public transportation, and more.
“Many thanks to all the service providers and agencies that agreed to participate in such an important event for our senior adults,” said the senator. “I am proud to offer this opportunity for them to learn what’s available to them, so they can take advantage of the services they need.”
