Senator Farnese Makes Going Green Easier
Philadelphia, October 27, 2009 - Senator Farnese encourages you to go green and suggests recycling your trash is an easy way to begin.
A limited number of free recycling bins are available for constituents at the senator’s district office in South Philadelphia. Call 215-952-3121 to reserve one.
“I thought it was a good idea to make these containers more accessible to people so they can get head start toward helping Philadelphia become a greener city,” said Sen. Farnese.
Recycling is more convenient than ever, he points out, especially now that the City of Philadelphia picks up recyclables the same day it collects weekly trash.
Residents may also combine in the same blue bin, metal items like aluminum and tin cans, glass jars and bottles, paper materials like newspapers and magazines, as well as plastic containers and flattened cardboard boxes.
