Farnese Announces Nearly $650K Solar Energy Grant

HARRISBURG, November 12, 2009 - - State Sen. Larry Farnese (D-Philadelphia) announced a $649,152 Solar Energy grant to continue the “green” transformation of the Tasty Baking Company’s corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.

The grant was awarded to Borrego Solar Systems by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) and will be used to purchase a rooftop solar photovoltaic power system for the state-of-the-art corporate headquarters of Tasty Baking Company, a LEED Gold certified building.

“The Tasty Baking Company has been a leader in the use of ‘green’ technology in the Philadelphia region,” Farnese said. “This grant will certainly help to continue the company’s dedication to clean and renewable energy sources.”

The CFA is an independent agency of the Commonwealth.
