Senator Farnese Encourages Greener Transportation
at “Go Green Expo,”
Saturday, 14 March 2009, 1pm, at Pennsylvania Convention Center
March 13, 2009 - As an avid supporter of public transportation and environmentally-friendly vehicles, Senator Farnese plans to take his "green transportation" message to this weekend's Go Green Expo. The senator will participate in a panel discussion focusing on Sustainable Transportation at 1pm, Saturday, 14 March 2009, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
Sen. Farnese will discuss why the greening of public and personal transportation is so important to Pennsylvania’s and Philadelphia’s futures, along with Byron Commati of SEPTA; Mark Neuville from the American Transportation Association; Oliver Perry of the Eastern Electric Vehicle Club; and Senate colleague, Senator Andrew Dinniman of Chester County.
“I have a special interest in promoting and encouraging everyone to consider making their vehicles on the road ‘greener,’ as well as making mass transit more environmentally-friendly. I really look forward to having this discussion in such an open forum,” says the senator. He even mentioned his choice to drive a hybrid vehicle at last week’s Senate Appropriations hearing on transportation.
Go Green Expo is the nation's premier eco-friendly trade show, will showcase the latest and greatest in all things green from fuel-efficient cars and natural personal care products, to greener gadgets that help us live more sustainably. There will be 200 different exhibits, as well as a variety of panels and keynote presentations.
