Farnese Touts Success of Bikes for Kids

HARRISBURG, December 18, 2009 - - State Sen. Larry Farnese (D-Phila.) today hailed the Bikes for Kids Program, held earlier today at St. Thomas Aquinas School in Philadelphia, as a great success.

Farnese partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern PA, Philadelphia Neighborhood Bike Works and CH2M HILL’s Philadelphia office to distribute bikes and helmets to 35 underprivileged children in the Philadelphia area as part of the Bikes for Kids program.

“Just look at the smiles on the faces of the children that received the bikes, that tells you how much of a success this program is,” Farnese said. “We need to continue to show children and their families that there are good people out there that want to help them.”
