Philadelphia – September 17, 2019 – Sen. Larry Farnese (D- Philadelphia) announced today that multiple projects within his district are receiving a total of $250,000 through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program.

“I am very pleased that this investment in our community’s recreational areas are being made.” Farnese said. “Thriving neighborhoods succeed because they have thriving recreational hubs, and these grants work towards creating and maintaining those hubs in our city.”

Those receiving funding include:

  • The Delaware River Waterfront Corporation will receive $175,000 for their Beach Street Trail Acquisition project.
  • The East Passyunk Community Center Advisory Council will receive $16,711 to replace a multipurpose accordion wall in their facility.
  • Friends of Schuylkill River Park will receive $9,324 to go towards their Schuylkill River Park Master Plan.
