Attorney General Shapiro Launches ‘PA CARE Package’ Consumer Relief Initiative During COVID Pandemic
Attorney General Josh Shapiro launched the ‘PA CARE Package’ Consumer Relief Initiative that focuses on partnering with banks and financial institutions to help consumers who are eligible for consumer relief. Financial institutions must expand small and medium business loan availability, give at least a 90-day grace period for mortgages, give a 90-day grace period for other consumer loans such as auto loans, give a 90-day window for relief from fees and charges such as late or overdraft fees, hold foreclosure, eviction, or motor vehicle repossession moratorium for 60 days, and have no adverse credit reporting for accessing relief on consumer loans. Pennsylvania Department of Human Services has created a map of the child-care centers that have received waivers to operate during the COVID-19 crisis. These centers are for those who work in life-sustaining positions. For more information, click here.
Philadelphia – Food Distribution
Philadelphia has begun food distribution at select sights for those effected by COVID-19. Sites will be open Monday-Thursday from 10am to 12pm.
