PASNAP Negotiations

On Thursday, January 3, 2019, I had stood with nurses and advocates from St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Hahnemann Hospital to fight for patient safety. I want to thank all of the nurses and staff that continuously fight for the safety and well-being of others.

Rebuilding and Revitalizing Our Neighborhoods

The Department of Community and Economic Development is now accepting applications for neighborhood and community improvement and revitalization projects in Philadelphia through the newly established Local Share Account. LSA will distribute a portion of slot machine license fees generated within Philadelphia. Funds are available for economic development, neighborhood revitalization, community improvement and other projects in the public interest within Philadelphia. LIHEAP Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) Enrollment

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is currently accepting applications for the 2018-2019 season. If you or someone you may know needs help with their heating bill, you may qualify for LIHEAP. Applications are accepted until April 12, 2019. School Safety and Security Funding

The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee announced the availability of state School Safety and Security funds for implementing projects to address the violence in Pennsylvania’s communities. For more information and details, click here.

Water Main Break Update!

Repairs due to the water main break in Center City last year have been completed. The water main break affected Sansom and Juniper Streets. The restaurants and shops in the affected area are now fully open and ready for business, and the streets have been repaired.

Home ShowPhilly Home Show: January 11-20, 2019 (Select Dates)

The annual Philadelphia Home Show returns from January 11th – 20th, 2019 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Hundreds of home exhibitors and home-design experts will come together for this 2-week event. In addition, guest designers and celebrities from the home design world will speak at the event.

Winterfest Live! Winterfest Live! Winterfest Live! at XFINITY Live! – Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 2-6 p.m.

More than 75 breweries will come together at XFINITY Live! for the annual Winterfest Live! This craft beer celebration will be held on Saturday, January 12th from 2 to 6 p.m. Winter favorite brews will be the feature of this event, along with music, games and giveaways.
