Funding Approved for Philadelphia
I am happy to announce nearly $1.5 million in grant funding has been approved for projects in the 1st District through the CFA Multimodal Transportation Fund program. These projects will improve infrastructure around our community. For the full article and details, please visit my website.
Fund our Facilities
Let’s face it, we are witnessing Philadelphia schools fall apart before our eyes. Our kids cannot learn if their school hallways are flooded from leaking roofs; dangerous lead paint is peeling from walls; and deadly toxins are fluttering down from asbestos-laden ceilings.
Students deserve a safe, secure, and healthy place to learn. That is why I am supporting the “Fund Our Facilities Coalition”. We need to advocate for commonsense investments that will improve the facilities where our children receive their education.
For $170 million, the environmental hazards that are plaguing the School District of Philadelphia can be eradicated. Whether the money comes through existing funding sources or is carved out in a new budget line item, it is critical that we invest in the cleanup and upgrade of Philadelphia schools.
The children of Philadelphia deserve better and it is time for us to invest in their future.
