I want to thank all the seniors who attended my Senior Expo at South Philly High School. This event just gets better each year. Thanks, also, to all the vendors that participated in this event.
In this District Connection, I have three educational updates for you:
- How you can enroll your child in prekindergarten Head Start;
- Easing the burden of paying for college; and
- Resources for adult students and veterans.
I also have an update from SEPTA on restoring evening service. As always, thank you for your support and feel free to contact me if my staff and I can be of any assistance.
Have a great day,
Sen. Larry Farnese
Prekindergarten Head Start Enrollment
Parents who have children ready to begin school should think about prekindergarten Head Start for 3 and 4 year olds. The program runs the entire school year during regular school hours and provides students with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. For more information, click here or call 215-400-4270.
Financial Aid for College
The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency’s (PHEAA) interactive student aid guide can provide you with a complete overview of the financial aid process. It also has information on the majority of financial aid programs and services that are available. For more information, click here.
Resources for Adult Students & Veterans
For help in getting your GED or finding the right college, check out PhillyGoes2College.org. There you will find resources to help you pay for college, plan your career and get community support. Wonderful resources are available for veterans on this site, too. Good luck in your continuing education!
