September 30, 2011 – Concerned community leaders, police and residents from the Point Breeze and Grey’s Ferry sections of Philadelphia came together to call for an end to the recent wave of violence.  Senator Larry Farnese thanked the hard working police and community activists for fighting to keep their neighborhoods safe, and called on Harrisburg to enforce existing gun legislation, increase penalties for people who commit gun violence, and to join him in ending straw purchases and closing the Florida Loop Hole.
